FINALly Done

Jacket: Nordie's | Sweater: F21 | Tee: F21 | Jeans: Simply Vera | Flats: Steve Madden Vegass | Monogram necklace: eBay

Officially one semester and one bar exam away from being a LAWYAH! Ever wonder exactly how finals look? Exhibit A: messy buns.

Shirt: Old Navy | Jeans: Simply Vera | Shoes: Steve Madden Delicatt | Bag: F21 | Bracelet: J.Crew

Exhibit B: All black. And sparkly heels.

Because everyone knows that you're better off humming Johnny Cash all day and wearing glittery shoes and crossing your fingers than actually studying. (Can y'all tell I had a SERIOUS case of almost-graduated-itis this semester?)

Today marks day one of my coffee and ice chips diet to fit in my bridesmaid dress in two weeks. By coffee and ice chips I mean fruit and veggie smoothies, but still. Tis not the season for health food. Anyone have any smoothie recipes that won't make me cry?

  1. Congrats sweetie!! It must feel great to be done for a little while.
Here is a smoothie I love:
combine a chopped frozen banana, soy or almond milk, natural peanut butter, cinnamon, and honey in a blender. I don't measure anything...just dump it in and figure out what amounts of each you like best. It's delish and very healthy!!

    1. LOVE THIS SMOOTHIE... I found almost the exact same one online, except I haven't tried adding cinnamon and I add 3-4 cups of raw spinach. SOUNDS GROSS YEAH? Except it's awesome. The spinach has no taste at all and makes it this awesome scary green color.

  2. Woohoo! I had a major case of senioritis is 3L... the end is so near! I really like basic smoothies made with Greek yogurt, frozen blueberries, and honey but I don't know how "healthy" that is comparative to all the fancy soy or green smoothies that are so popular these days.

    1. I need to try honey! I think you guys might all be geniuses. I don't do soy or veggie things usually, I'm too Midwest for that ;) Will be trying this fooorrrr sure.

  4. Congrats girlie! You look WAY cuter taking exams/finals than I ever did. When I was in school I pretty much wore jammies to school. Oh the shame. And I was a Fashion Merchandising Major! Too bad your blog wasn't around then, I might have had a fighting chance;) xo

    1. Oh girl, half the reason I started this blog was to STOP WEARING SWEATS ALL THE TIME. Had no idea you were a FM major! JEALOUS. Sometimes I wish I would have just gone with that, but let's be honest, I had no idea what I wanted to do. I had no idea what I wanted to have for lunch.

  5. Wow! I'm sure dressing cute for finals gets you better grades, right? You look awesome by the way. And smoothie recipes? Sorry can't help you there. The more strawberries the better for me. I can't with those spinach or kale smoothies.

    1. Hey, I'm a fruit girl too, but you HAVE to try the recipe in the first comment. I swear to you, you can't taste the spinach. Kale scares me, but spinach I've conquered.

  6. With bananas, spinach, and whatever milk you like add a couple of packets of hot chocolate (sugar free or diet). I like to pretend it's the Frozen Hot Chocolate from Serendipity ;)

    1. THIS IS HAPPENING. I've never had the frozen hot chocolate but it's been all over Pinterest and I've been DYING to try it. This way, I can pretend I'm doing it for my health :)

  7. Ahaha Sam, you are so funny. Ice chips for breakfast, celery for lunch, chocolate cake for dinner. It's all about balance. ;)

And congrats on being an almost lawyer! If I get into any legal trouble, I'll call you...? Weird? Maybe. Still congrats though! You'll be the most fashionable lawyer on the scene.

    1. Also, I'm not saying this is the healthiest tip ever, but it IS something that works: I have gone on this "seven day diet" before that is basically mostly fruits, veggies & lean proteins set into a schedule of 7 days that causes you to drop like, 7-10 pounds in a week. It's all water weight, and you pretty much immediately gain it back if you don't follow it up with continuous healthy eating... but did I use it to squeeze into my tiny little wedding dress? Yup. Cuz it works.

    2. This might be happening. I'm 9 days out and fail whale-ing. My diet is far closer to ice/celery/cake than it should be ;) Darn you, Christmas season!!!

  9. Love the shoes - both outfits!!

No tips for smoothies but I love to eat a selection of fruit when I'm trying to fit into a dress. Makes me feel far more full as it takes ages to eat!

Do you want to follow each other?

  12. I absolutely love these outfits, esp the first one. Those shoes are killer, and they look great with the rest of the outfit. It's always nice to add an unexpected print or texture. And congrats for being almost finished with school!
