Sweater: Old Navy | Shirt: F21 | Jeans: Simply Vera | Flats: Steve Madden Vegass | Earrings: Target
This Forever 21 top is so sheer that I haven't actually been able to wear it on its own - something about "hey look there's my bra!" doesn't seem to scream "hire me I'm a young professional!" at the same time. I love that it adds a pop of pattern to an otherwise pppreeeettttyyyyy plain outfit. I definitely want to add some more patterned button downs to my closet - I loved this one so much during my last 30 for 30 that I'm pretty sure I couldn't go wrong with at least a leopard print and a stripe. A month or so ago I was watching this beautiful pink and red stripe Equipment blouse on eBay... I fell asleep before it ended and it sold for THIRTY FIVE FREAKING DOLLARS. Seriously, don't you just want to stick a fork in your eye when that happens?
What's your "one that got away"? eBay-wise that is, we're not trying to get all Katy Perry up in here.
Very cute! I love blouses under sweaters but I always feel like I can't escape the bunchy sausage-y look.. haha. My most recent 'one that got away' happened this week actually.. I was watching a gorgeous pair of almost like-new Coach ankle booties that sold for TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS. I forgot to go back and bid because in an attempt to take my eBay-ing down a notch I turned off mobile alerts. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!! It's always the great, one of a kind things that go crazy low and I always, always miss them.
DeleteI love the pop of fun this top adds to the outfit! Could you wear it with a tan or black tank under it and a big chunky necklace to distract people? Just a thought! But it looks great under sweaters!

For whatever reason I'm like allergic to wearing black tanks under things (don't ask, it's weird) but I think I could get a tan slip or something and it would be fine, I just haven't tried cause I'm laazzzzyyyyy :)
DeleteI LOVE this outfit! The hints of leopard make me very happy. I'm the kind of person that if I actually want something I get it. I don't want very much so when I do, there's no getting away from me!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha get em girl!!! You're probably the one outbidding me at the last second
DeleteStellar topknot!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! And see, I thought it was a little much. This makes me feel better.
DeleteTotally agreeing with the above commenter about the fabulous topknot! I love this look and the pop of leopard is just enough to keep it completely fresh. great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you! You guys would die if you saw my sad little hairnet rat donut thing I use... it's straight lunch lady.
DeleteLove this outfit. I have the same sweater (in multiple colors) and haven't tried putting a button up underneath - I'm feeling inspired!!

oh I am in loooooove with this sweater. I had to stop myself from buying one in every color.
DeleteMy ebay "one that got away," a pair of mint-colored Delman peep-toes that sold for $30 while I was in class. Le sigh. I still dream about them, and it happened 2 years ago!
ReplyDeleteThose things will straight up HAUNT YOU. I always try to like save a picture of the ones I lose so I'll remember if they ever come up again... but it's eBay. That like never happens
DeleteCute! My one that got away was the J Crew polkadot sequin top for a bargain price that I forgot to go bid on. It ended up going for like $25. Argh.
ReplyDeleteBummmmerrrrr. I get so much of my J.Crew off eBay! So glad I'm not the only one!
DeleteTotally unrelated to your outfit comment: I dig that fun little plug in scent maker.
ReplyDeleteRelated comment: I enjoy the bun with this outfit. Perfect touch.
I don't do the ebay thing. Competition scares me hence why I shot for the wrong team when I played basketball.

It's a Scentsy! You should totally get them, they're way less scary than candles. And HILARIOUS that you mention basketball because I shot for the wrong team TWICE in high school. My coach made it like a "thing" to tell me if our goal was "toward the flag" or "away from the flag" after that ;)
DeleteI like the printed button-down under a simple outfit. That is a nice white sweater and your bun looks great.
ReplyDeleteThank you! This sweater is like my baby, I am so protective of it haha
DeleteThis is so cute. I love the two animal prints together in this outfit.
