Red stumps me.
I love red. I might even call red my favorite color, if it wasn't being such a total B right now. But when I threw my favorite red skirt and my new red blazer into the 30 for 30 shenanigans, I didn't expect to have my mind so thoroughly and utterly boggled by them. Nothing looks right to me. Leopard seems predictable, anything white or blue and I look like a flag. I'm off to Pinterest-search for some inspo, but in the meantime: how do you wear red? Help a girl out.

Linking up with The Pleated Poppy.
I've been pairing red with fuchsia/pink! I know, I know - a little Valentine-y, but I love it! I don't think there's anything wrong with the classics. Leopard and red will forever be one of my favorite combos.
ReplyDeleteGirl how did you know Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday! Love me some red and pink.
Deletewhat, I like the red and leopard! I did a red blazer/purple scarf a few weeks ago. A few people commented that it's similar to the red hat society ladies, but they're fabulous so I'll deal with that ;)
ReplyDeleteOh trust me, I love it too - but leopard goes with everything (at least in my head), so I feel like I fall back on it so much that it's basically cheating. And I seriously considered my purple top with my red skirt, but I thought of the hat ladies!!! Now I'm so doing it.
DeleteWhat a great blazer- and thanks for giving the details about it, I have been dying for a red blazer!
ReplyDeleteLove how you styled it!
Stopping by from the link up! Happy Wednesday!

Understated Classics
They might still have it if you go soon! I sized up, because there was some weird pulling action going on at the front seams in my normal size, maybe because of the lack of lapel? I don't know.
DeleteYou look gawgeous in red my dear! It is a color I have a difficult time wearing, other than to support my favorite college football team (Go Razorbacks!). I don't know what it is, but solid red + solid brown together give me the creeps! I am trying to embrace red with plaids, grays, and even pops of purple, and of course my go-to print: leopard.

ReplyDeleteThanks lady!
DeleteI'm now even more convinced that I need to add a red blazer to my wardrobe. So cute!

DO IT and wear it all the time so I can see how you do it. I feel like I need Cliffsnotes for red.
DeleteCute leggings! Can't believe they're LC Lauren Conrad. Great find!
ReplyDeleteI was pretty shocked, but who am I to fight it? :)
DeleteUm, I don't see red being a b in these pictures. I think you look great! I love red too, but oddly have very little of it in my closet. Maybe you are right, it's because it is such a b to style. I do love red with beige though, if that helps...
ReplyDeleteHahaha red appreciates you not calling her a B. I do like red and beige, and red and camel. I like red a lot of places, they just never seem to be when it's on me.
DeleteTotally late to this party, but here are some combos that work for me:
ReplyDelete* red with polka dots (esp. black and white)
* red with navy and silver (a little less patriotic with some sparkle...yeah?)
* red and gray (gray is the "new" neutral, and it's silver's shy brother, so there you have it)
* mustard (ketchup and mustard go together...helloooo)
* plaid (you can try rocking that whole two button ups thing and double up on chambray and plaid...I'm still not sure I can pull it off)
I have to say that I'm still a big fan of leopard with red. Who cares if it's safe? It's still awesome.
