Tomorrow I have to drive three and a half hours for my bar fitness interview.
Common questions: do you have to do pushups? Run laps? Is this like bootcamp? I can see how you'd think that, but no. IT'S BETTER. You get to drive all the gas out of your car to spend twenty minutes with a room full of strangers while they politely evaluate whether you're going to turn out to be a serial killer or some other PR disaster for the legal profession before they admit you to the bar.
(If you're reading this, bar examiners, the answer is no.)
I. am. so. psyched.
I hope you guys will forgive me for breaking my 30 for 30 tomorrow afternoon when I don my interview Batsuit. Duh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh BAT GIRL! I usually wear all black when I'm seriously suiting up 1) because LC told me to, 2) because it's easy, and 3) because it reminds me of that time I tried to be a goth kid freshman year of high school but my parents wouldn't let me dye my hair or wear black lipstick so I cut up all my shirts and wore dog collars instead. Those were the days.

You look GORGEOUS! I love the pattern mixing and unexpected color combo. Best of luck tomorrow in your "bat suit". :)

Thanks! I felt a liiiiittle bit like I got dressed in the dark, but I liked it in the end. And the batsuit worked like a charm! :)
DeleteGood luck with the bar fitness interview! I am sure you are not a serial killer! :) Love your outfit too!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha well if I end up needing a not-serial-killer rec letter, I'll let you know!
DeleteHmmm can't really see you wearing a dog collar LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove the bun and the sweater. Good luck on the interview : )

Oh, I wore the heck out of the dog collar. My parents were so thrilled.
DeleteThanks lady!
Good luck with your interview, too funny about you h.s. style. When I wad a freshman I went through an awesome grunge phase, plaid shirts, doc martins and all.
ReplyDeleteBTW I'm totally obsessed with that bracelet,
My goth phase came complete with safety pin earrings and... rap music? Let's just have a moment of silence and be grateful we both snapped out of it ;)
DeleteI love this look and I also love your 30x30 challenge - I'm also trying to improve my remixing, but at the moment the weather just is a bit too difficult to make a 30x30 remix challenge, you never now if it's snowing or raining or quite warm for winter tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck tomorrow!
xxx Anita
Our weather fluctuates a lot here, too - you don't have to count rain gear, heavy coats, rainboots, any of that. I think you should try it! But you have to let me know if you do so I can follow along.
DeleteUGH I can't believe you have to be interviewed in person! The FL bar just did a really intense background check on all of us, but thankfully no in-person meeting.
ReplyDeleteIT WAS SO RIDICULOUS. I mean it literally took less than 20 minutes and I had to drive seven hours round trip. One more super efficient mechanism of the law school/bar admission system.
DeleteI love your pattern mixing! Good luck on your interview too. Florida doesn't do that except looking into every aspect of your life lol
ReplyDeleteI feel like I should send them a Christmas card, they know so much about me. If my identity ever gets stolen I know where to look!!
DeleteCute outfit! I like the color combination!

Thanks so much!
DeleteGood luck tomorrow! That sweater looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's so comfortable, but it's like an XL or something crazy. Target had a screwy sizing batch, I think.
DeleteYou.Go.Girl. I'm sure you will look fab, especially if you leave the dog collars at home;)
ReplyDeleteDamn, maybe that's why they failed me... ;)
DeleteI love reading the witty shit (can I say that on blogs? oops) you write. Seriously, I always giggle. Best of luck proving you aren't a nutso :D
ReplyDeleteYou sure as hell can on this blog! Hahaha. I try to project non-nutso in my day to day life, but for some reason it's much harder on paper
DeleteSam, this is such an unexected colour combo, but it looks really great. Sam, I will cross my fingers and I am more than convinced that you will kick the bar examniners asses :-)
ReplyDeletePS: Make sure not to tell them what you do to your fingers when you do those great patchwork blankets they might consider you as a serial finger killer, just saying ;-) hahahaha
You go girl, believe in you! Viel Glück (good luck)

OR maybe I should have slipped in a little "oh, you see this fingernail? YOU SHOULD SEE THE OTHER GUY." Though I think threatening your bar examiners is probably bad form.
DeleteI need you to be my German tutor! I feel like I've learned more from you in a month than I learned in six years of French classes!
You are stunning in that bun lady! Seriously - I love it sooo much! I hope everything is going ok with your fitness! **Sending happy thoughts**

Here&Now
The verdict on the bun is still out, I feel like an alien with a Cinnabon glued on my head. Once we got past the examiners' impression that I had two DUIs (I was like, uh, sir... this is a subject I feel like a bit of an expert on, and I'm pretty sure I have zero DUIs...) everything went smashingly haha.
