Denim vest with sweatshirt hood: TJMaxx | Sonic the Hedgehog backpack: Walmart | Neon hightops: Target | Ridiculous glasses: TJMaxx
So this happened last night. And since you never quite know what trend is going to crop up next, I figured I'd be ahead of the curve if looking like a 12-year-old boy suddenly comes into style. As you may suspect from this picture, the night ended with me pulling my friend (who does not actually look like Chuckie Finster but who may want to be gainfully employed one day) around on his Rollerblades with his Nintendo remote hooked to my Sonic backpack.
But the highlight, by far, was discovering the Fruit Loop martini, a concoction that comes complete with a spoon and a crushed Fruit Loop rim, and actually tastes like the milk at the bottom of your Fruit Loop bowl. Breakfast (alcoholism?) will never be the same.
What are your favorite songs/shows/movies/things from the nineties?! I'm a 90s music enthusiast, which means at any given time I've probably got LFO, the Goo Goo Dolls, the Spice Girls, and Fatboy Slim on a playlist together somewhere. And don't get me started on the Ninja Turtles. I'm still bitter that I never got a puffy shell backpack for my birthday.
Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend :)

It sure looks like you had fun :) I was a bug fan of "Salute your Shorts" and "Are you Afraid of the Dark" on Nickelodeon. U also really like "Double Dare."

Hahaha thanks Emily. I think "adorable" was not exactly the word of choice... ;)
DeleteThis post has just made me love you more. I was OBSESSED with Full House.
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww if all I had to do was wear a jean vest, why didn't you say so?! :P Hahaha I had a huuuuge crush on Uncle Joey...
DeleteThe 90s were such a magical time! I mean, I was never coordinated enough to roller skate, but I begged my parents for roller blades. I got them for Christmas when I was 10, and pretty much just rolled around on the back patio where I could hold onto the house. I was such a brilliant child!
ReplyDeleteUh, you might be my mom's child. The first (and last) time she went rollerblading with me she broke her ankle. So really you're ahead of the curve!!
DeleteI begged for roller-blades but Got a skateboard instead which I still Lovee.. And a big fan of X-files/ the crystal maze and the likes ... We did not have Nickelodeon in my country at that time, cable TV was pretty new around here ... Loved playing Mario and Contra and Ninja turtles and some other video games ... and No I am not a NERD :D
ReplyDeleteI was never coordinated enough to rollerblade, but I LOVED my Sega. Loved it. We're not nerds ;)
DeleteDang it, I meant SKATEBOARD. I could never skateboard.
DeleteOMG loving this. It brings me right back to childhood :) Some of my favorite 90s things: Full House, Spice Girls, Boy Meets World, rollerblading, playing Disney video games on the Sega Genesis, Lisa Frank folders and stickers, Yikes pencils, Gelly Roll pens, Babysitters Club books, my first pair of flare jeans...

The Sega!! Lisa Frank!! All of these things. Except instead of the Babysitters Club I read the Boxcar Children, which isn't actually from the 90s but I read them in the 90s so I think they count haha.
DeleteI adore you.
ReplyDeleteI also lovelovelove 90's music and this martini sounds LIFE CHANGING.

GIRL IT WAS. I wish I could send all of you one of these things. You'd see. But I looked like a suuuuuuper little kid when you combined my outfit with the fact that I was drinking my martini from a spoon...
DeleteHahaha this is hilarious! And I'm pretty sure the 90s ARE coming back into fashion - especially looking like a teenage boy ;)

You are TOO MUCH cute lady! Three Big cheers to children of the 90s! (born in the 80s, raised in the 90s, I'm sure you didn't need this explanation, but I didn't want you to think I was a baby! hehe)

ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! Ironically, I wear this same outfit (minus the denim vest) on any given weekend. I'm not sure what that says about my style...
