3: Emergency Substitution

Sweater: H&M | Dress (as skirt): BCBGMAXAZRIA | Flats: Me Too Patty | Scarves: Kohl's | Bag: Handbag Heaven | Watch: Fossil | Bracelet: J.Crew | Earrings: F21 | Sweet green light in my hair: courtesy of my remote

The Vegas dress is back! I wore this to my friend's bridal shower this weekend, which consisted of cupcakes, a reaffirmation of my obsession with buffalo dip (recipe coming soon), and about a thousand pictures of my coMOH's (that's an official term, btw) 13-month-old, who claps like a seal and is the biggest camera whore since Zoolander. So precious.

I promised to have my OCD-organization-of-30x30 post up this weekend, but I was working on my gift for the shower...

... and although I love how it turned out, I sort of sewed right through my index finger.
ALL THE WAY THROUGH MY INDEX FINGER. So I took the weekend off.
Let me tell you, you haven't experienced horror until you've witnessed a needle sticking in through your nail and all the way out the other side.

Even worse, the washing machine ate my white jeans. I haven't decided on their replacement yet, since white jeans are hard to come by in November, but I may stop by Target and throw some printed pants into the mix. Until then, we're retitling this thing a "29 for 30." And I might be going pantsless.

2: Gingham & Leather

Shirt: J.Crew Factory | Sweater: H&M | Pants: Lauren Conrad, Kohl's | Booties: Betsey Johnson Ziah | Earrings: F21 | Necklace: F21 | Watch: Kohl's | Bracelet: American Eagle | Ring: H&M

I have this thing where I can't look at gingham without visions of lollipop guilds dancing in my head. I blame it on my upbringing. So anyway, if you've ever wondered what Dorothy would have looked like riding a motorcycle down the yellow brick road, this is probably the closest thing to an answer you're ever going to get.

It just occurred to me that I never actually explained what a 30x30 is. Even though I bet most of you already know, just in case: the lovelywonderful Kendi at Kendi Everyday made up this challenge where you pick thirty items from your closet (including shoes, not including outerwear and accessories) and only wear those things for the next thirty days/thirty outfits.

Laundry optional.

Sam's First Ever And Possibly Last If It Doesn't Go Well But That's Just The Pessimist In Me Talking
30 FOR 30 CHALLENGE
(cue gauntlet music)

This is it!! My OCD is having suuuch a blast planning my outfits for the month, which I realize is not what most people look forward to about 30 for 30, but there it is. I'm working on a post to share all (yes, there are multiple) the ways I organize and come up with outfits. Hints: one is an app, one is old-fashioned, and one is sort of accountant-chic. You guys Type A is no joke okay.

Up first is this slightly Christmassy mix that I couldn't possibly wait until December to wear. I'm not a big fan of red and green together, but burgundy and lime? Gimme gimme gimmaaay. I've had this plaid shirt for two years and I've never worn it with anything else - only by itself, with jeans. Seriously, what the hell else have I been missing out on all this time? This is like the time I discovered I like cheesecake.

Photobomb!

WOOK AT THAT WITTLE FACE!!

Dear God I almost typed "attached please find my items for the 30x30 challenge..." Methinks I've written one too many professional emails today. Anyhoo, in case you were curious, here are the thirty items I'm working with this month. Outfit suggestions welcome!
